French-born Isabelle Chaffaud started her professional career in 1993 at the Grand Theatre de Genève under the direction of Gradimir Pankov. In 1996 she joined Ohad Naharin (Batsheva Dance Company) in Israel and in 1998 she was invited by Ji?í Kylián to join the Nederlands Dans Theater I, where she danced until 2002.
After that, she worked on creations and reprises from Saburo Teshigawara. In the same time, among other, she danced for Bruno Listopad and Karine Guizzo, danced and assisted choreographer André Gingras for an event directed by Robert Wilson. Chaffaud was also nominated for the Swan of best dance-performance in 2004-2005 for her role in Compass for Fools.
She worked with sculptor Elena Beelaerts and danced and collaborated closely in different works by Jérôme Meyer. In December 2005 they created together the evening length work Corps à Corps. For For here we live and now (’06) a new initiative of Korzo producties for ‘young’ choreographers, Chaffaud created the solo Somewhere within...a quiet place. Chaffaud latest work is Kamerdans for Cadance 2006
